all aboard!

hang on! i didn't actually let you know the real reason why i ended up in stockholm during my graduation trip with the girlies. it was all because of this:

yessss dear readers, i was away for 5 days because i was on sea; cruising :) and being my first official cruise (too young to "enjoy" the cruise last time. hihihi), i was very excited about it *jumps of joy*

we paid around 300ish quid per person for the vision of the seas by royal caribbean. booked 2 rooms with triple beds. and we quickly make ourselves comfortable and turned it into our "nest" for the coming 4 nights! *giggle*

basic facilities are FREE OF CHARGE- swimming pool, gym, sauna, rock climbing, dancing clases, casino (well technically tak free because you use money to gamble, no? lame, i knowwww!), masquerade theatre for the evening shows.

and oh, the food are ENDLESS. what do i mean by that?

they have buffet breakfast from 8-10am, then some cafe will be open for you to get snack while waiting for lunch, then lunch will be served from 12-4pm and followed by tea buffet until 6pm and then you'll have dinner where 2 waitress will be allocated to your table specifically and served you throughout the evening, and if you are still hungry after all that pizza+ hotdogs for supper are available from the cafe. ahhhh forgot to add that if u are feeling hungry way earlier than the breakfast buffet, call for the bed and breakfast service- i think they start at 6.30am or something like that.

madness kan?!!!! hungry waaaaatttttt? rofl.

so if you are a first time cruiser (like moi!), here are the basic things you need to know:

#1 prepare a credit/debit card as the method of payment for extra charges -you might spend abit while onboard. you see, there are shops there+ you might join their excursions. if you prefer cash, make sure you check what curency they use. we were silly that we didn't bring any us dollar and oo-em-gee confirm rugi la once they convert pounds to usd! so check in advance yeah?

#2 regarding the payment, no, you don't pay for things immediately. basically they will make you a cruise-identification card and you need it with you all the time throughout the cruise. just swipe that card and it goes straight to your bill. if you are paying by cash, need to do it the night before we leave the ship. by card? check your monthly bill by the end of the month lah.

#3 what clothes to bring?
for us, we spent 4 nights onboard thus we were advised to bring at least 1 formal attire as there was a formal dinner during one of the nights. the rest is totally up to you- pack your bikini (you can sunbathing on the deck! or for jacuzzi), gym clothes+shoes and your normal daily attire lor.

#4 was it difficult in term of food as a muslim?
i was lucky to have mr. emil as my waiter as he knew immediately that i couldn't take alcohol due to religion reasoning. so before i pick what i want to eat for dinner, he'll let me know in advance of what i can take and what not.
my dinner...not bad, no?

#5 do you stay on the ship all the time?
basically the cruise ship stopped at 2 ports throughout the cruise; talinn in estonia and st petersburg in rusia (which i'll write more about it later ok!). but going down and out of the ship is totally up to you! you can stay-in like missyA and make full use of their facilities. that's the only time when it is less crowded, to be honest.

all in all, personally, the cruise was a good experience and definitely was the best choice as our graduation trip. it was pretty relaxing- you get to do what you want at your own time and pace. with their facilities and entertainment (i like the cruise director, mark walker!) you won't have time to be bored! *laughs* but i'd only recommend it if you have been to those places where the cruise ship will stops-by, as you won't have much time to explore the city if it was your first time there. unless it is a small city.

mr.bofwen, cruise holiday for honeymoon. what say you? *wink*
