for the first time, i brought my local friends to a malaysian restaurant for dinner.
we picked satay house because (1) it's my favourite- i'd recommend it!, (2) the friends collected 8 coupons 2-for-1 from the newspaper, and (3) most important of all, it's a belated birthday celebration for FP!!!! they've been there before and enjoyed the first experience- now they are coming back, with a professional at the side to recommends what's best and what's not!
waaaaaahhhhh that's a lot of responsibility ohkay! *giggle*
the thing about malaysian food is that it's either oily or cooked with a massive amount of santan [coconut milk]. not much of a healthy eater, i would say. and plus, we are not that vegetarian-friendly as well. you don't eat meat? then just chuck away the shrimp/chicken from the noodle and wallaaaaa, vegetarian lah tu!
all in all, i'm glad that they enjoyed the kuey teow goreng, mee goreng and chicken rice! *fuuuuuuuuhhh* to be honest, i was tempted to recommend the nasi lemak and teh tarik at first. but i wasn't sure if they were adventurous enough! can they cope with that? .
...eerrrr i doubt so! i guess i'll save that for next time!
apart from making me feel good about myself (and how truely malaysian i am lol), the way they pronounce malaysian dishes were utterly cute!
sa-tai!!!!! *tried hard to put on a straight face*
