i finally watched it!
the narrator was right; it isn't a (typical) love story - where boy meets girl and they fall in love and live happily ever after. get real, people. life is not a bed of roses. and love, like the roses, are beautiful but can be hurtful at time especially when the torn pricks your finger.
he, who incredibly believes in true fate/ coincidence/ magical moments which lead to true love; where as she on the other hand believes in the opposite. i find it rather interesting how these two individuals (totally opposite to each other) fell in love and get along pretty well.... before she realised that she couldn't find "it" in him.
i spent the whole time watching the movie feeling angry towards the two main characters. especially towards summer; for misleading tom and giving him hopes yet pulling him down afterwards. and tom for being stopppid; i mean for god sake, isn't it obvious that she doesn't want a boyfriend but only played along thanks to the drunken friend that confessed on how tom really likes summer.
but i guess it happened in real life.

i mean, when you like someone that much, you only see what you wanted to see. you shut down, put aside those things that shouldn't have happened (but it happened anyway!) just because you still wanted to believe on that true love. deep down you feel hurt but you still think it's worth saving. worth fighting for. after all those signs, affections shown by the other side....sure got some feeling right? the expectations would not be that great, high up in the sky compared to the reality if the other side doesn't give the wrong signal, right?
that's why i couldn't understand summer.
how can someone be so reckless in handling others' heart? i think it's just cruel.
tom, i feel your pain!
