a two-way street

every year i become a little richer in friends! as i grow older, gradually my circle of friends enlarged - old friends since primary school, shah alam geng, mrsmpc chickas, and kyuemians. unfortunately long-distance is my middle name. most of them are not within touch; "physically".

whilst i was spending the extended weekend catching up with my chanteks, i couldn't help but also reflect on what a lousy girlfriend i've turned into. honestly i haven't really been seeing or contacting my friends; who i've dearly missed *boohoo*

somehow time and distance have made their way in putting dents in the friendship that once i thought would never end. i admit that life has become busier nowadays and it seems like uni shitloads and boyfriend begin to take precedence over friendships. this is a lame, lame, lame self-defense, i know.*pfffffttttt*

in the end it's all about mahu atau enggak mahu, isn't it? having said that, bertepuk sebelah tangan takkan berbunyi. it takes two to tango. both sides need to be committed and have constant communication for a friendship to work. it can be quite tiring if people always expect you to contact them first; when they, themselves, haven't really been doing much effort as well.

i think distance really does some damage to one's relationship...you were once close friends, then separated for a while and what you have left in common is merely memories...but what happened after you were apart is like a blank piece of paper...if you don't keep in touch that blankness will just grow bigger until the next time you meet, you will feel like strangers, as though there is big gap between you both and that gap is not easily filled, at least not something that can be mended in one or two days.
of coz it takes two hands to clap but we tend to take our friendships for granted ..always expect each other to understand that we are too busy to catch up and things between us will remain the same as they were b4 regardless of how infrequent we keep in contact....the truth is not all friendships work like dat..sigh

tulah, i guess we take things for granted kot. always thought friends would always wait for us, always never change as time goes by. pffffft. that's life, i guess! nnti dah settle down (i.e. kawin and beranak pinak) lagi lah its going to be harder and less of friends :((
