gastronomic weekend

spotted!

February thirteenth;
H, M, Y, F and A had their pre-valentines dinner at Sake No Hana. A well-decorated restaurant with unique ambiance. Very helpful waitress that explained things clearly on the menu. Unfortunately, it is a non-muslim-friendly restaurant. Most of the food got sake added to it. So F and A were left with sashimi, sushi and grilled fish choices only. grrrrrr. luckily there's the 50% off bill offer from toptable. without it, everything is simply overpriced. Spicy tuna was yummilicious :)) It took ages for the food to arrived. Lapar giler kot! Luckily they had their desserts at Caffe Concerto before the dinner. Cake was a no-no because (again!) it is a non-muslim-friendly cafe. sigh. only hot chocolate for F and A, i guess. sometimes it sucks to be away from home.

February fourteenth;
H and A started their Valentines date at
Partridges Food Market in Sloane Square because A badly wanted to try out the famous cuppacakes of Crumbs and Doilies. the verdict - the chocolate wasn't moist enough, the lemon was just nice, the vanilla would have been boring without the classic buttercream icing and the vanilla rose reminds her of something-familiar-back-home. it's edible as the icing weren't killer-sweet. just nice ;)) they then moved on to the V&A museum. trying hard to be "cultured" but sigh, tak sesuai langsung. at lunch hour, they were found snogging at Snog in South Kensington. Shared one classic chocolate snog with rasberries and gigantic cookies. worry not, it was only 200-ish calories, i think? he he he. so how was your first snog experience H and A? too sourish, not as sweet as you expected? i thought so :P not enough with all that, they moved their fat ass to kulu kulu; the conveyor belt sushi place across the road. The price is more reasonable than Yo! sushi and the tempura+salmon+avocado roll was the bomb! not enough with one, H and A had a second helping of that. hihihi. irresistable huh? no wonder lah E and F kept on coming back to the sushi bar for more More MORE sushi.

February fifteenth;
Z turned 21 today. L and A were busy planning for his surprise party weeks before the real day comes. A picked the
Nutella cake recipe by Nigella Lawson. super moist (note:one whole jar of nutella, flour-less and 6 biji telur) but it doesn't have the strong taste of nutella. at all. hmmm should have added more nutella maybe? *shrug* the pizza slices were super gigantic, L's grilled chicken was finger licking good and F's baked pasta was super filling. thank L, E and H for helping A to organized the 21st birthday party. awwwww so young,Z. how old will you be this year, A? *daymmmnnn* tengs for reminding!

What a lovely weekend filled with loads of love from family, friends and food! If only M is here in London, then everything would be more perfect. Ahhh A , you and your never-ending long distance relationship :(( aduh kasihan!
