you aren't going to be his first,
neither his last, nor his only.
he has loved before and (probably) he will again.
but if he loves you now...what else matters?
he won't be singing lullaby to you before you go to sleep.
he's not going to quote poetry that melts you heart.
he can't possibly think of you every moment, all the time.
but he will give you a part of him,
the side that nobody else can break or touch.
it's not enough to love someone when it's easy.
you have to love them when it's hard.
...when they don't deserve it.
...when they're in trouble.
it's the relationship you're willing to fight for.
the one that you want to protect.
