Greetings people :)
Did fried popiah a.ka. spring roll this evening...and wow, susahnye nak lipat cantik2!!!! Koyak sane, terburai sini...aiyoyo!!! The first 10 popiah-s were UGLY!!! Look at the pic below..... Need me to say anything else? :(
I nearly give up....but memandangkan i've promised mujid that i wanted to make some popiah for him, usaha harus diteruskan!!! and wallaaaa....the skill of lipat-ing popiah gets better and better!!! Takla secantik those homemade popiah from zaza...but oklah!!! ;) Taste wise..urmm...fatiha said not bad!!! Ada rase mcm popiah kat rmh...hehehe! I got the recipe from here! but of course, i didnt use the pork meat la kaaaan!!! Changed it to chicken salami. And modified the amount of chilli sauce and oyster sauce....a bit lah!
But i want to know....why my kulit popiah asyik terkoyak? is it because of the filling yang agak lembap (should have make it more "kering")? Or is it sbb i tinggalkan the kulit for too long out of the freezer? Why huh???? Anybody yang pernah buat and nak kasi tips buat popiah yang cantik??? Thanksssss :D
ps- I'm leaving tomorrow night!!!! Checked the weather forecast just now and wow, sejuk gells kot!!!! Max temp. tak lebih 10 degree celcius. And guess wuts the min temp? -7 degree celcius!!! Itu sejuk banget kot!!! And i planned to bring this spring denim jacket from Zara yang tak setebal mane! Urmm im still thinking whether nak tukar bw something thicker or bawa 2 jackets (malas!) or pakai je yang not-so-thick but still bergaya???!!! Warm or bergaya? hmm...wut do u guys think???
pps- Wait!!! Cant wait for korang punye comment! by the time i read it tomorrow, im done with packing!!! so malas nk tukar dah..So i've decided to choose *drum roll* BERGAYA!!!!! hahaha... role model i, sape lg tak lain tak bukan Miss Nadiah Tajuddin!!!! i'll tell u guys ape jadi later k?

kulit popiah terkoyak.. maybe u leave it dried out in the open?
to retain the moist.. once u opened the packet.. cover it with tea towl yg lembap.. so the skin tak dry-out. senang nak lipat...

i've just realised your comment! urm i think you're right kot.i did leave the kulit ternganga mcm tuh je..and didnt lap with kain lembap! i saw that in the instruction but i thought sbb nak jaga kebersihan! hahahaha :P
