But I don't want to see THAT dentist!!!

Greetings people :)

You see, i've been exposed to the dental world since i'm a kid! Before "the" incident happens, my mum always made us go and visit the dentist once in 6 months. For normal checkup, scaling blablabla. BUT none of my deciduous teeth were extracted by the dentist....everything was done by my daddy :)

Ever since "the" incident, i had to visit the dentist more frequent. And i've become really particular in choosing the right dentist to treat me. It's hard to please me ok! Their dental dexterity is definitely important...I mean, hellloooooo, I bet you wouldnt want to have tooth yang shape die tak same like how it suposed to look like or there are some rough patches which you can feel it everytime your tongue "walk" around you mouth. Haihhhhh.....

But one thing that really irritates me is when the dentist treats me like a kid. Well i was a kid that time but shouldnt he/she explains in simple term what is actually happening to my teeth and how they gonna treat it? Giler harrasing my rights tau!!!! I takla bodoh sgt that time..huhu. So there i was, really small, innocent and weak on the big chair...lying down, nganga-ing the mulut....listen to the sound of the terrifying drill, my face got wet by the water (percik-percik tau! Nasib baik some dental nurse rajin lap!). All the dentist said was,"Buka mulut besar lagi". Cisss, die ingat mulut i ni elastic rubber band kah? Adoiiii :S

And yesss, another thing thing that made me pissed off to some dentist is when they lie. "Just a litle bit more" or "Naaaah, it wont hurt. Trust me!". I know the pain is bearable but i would be really pleased if they could just be honest with me. If sakit, cakap sakitlah! I think if I was prepared for the situation (i.e. you tell me what you gonna do, how the procedures will be, how does it feel etc) the anxiety level can be reduce. Takkeee? eeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Now that i'm studying dentistry, those dentists yang buli-ed me last time can't do that anymore!!! I'm no longer dental patient yang boleh diperlekehkan!!!! I know my rights...and i'm gonna use it to the max! Che tak tau la whether it's the msians dentists' attitudes or what, but they have really bad dental ethicals. *This statement was agreed by all msians dental students*

Lesson 1: Always ask for ALL of the dental treatment options and ask them to include the pricing! Most dentists (not all! some lah kot....) do treatments on their patients..then dkt counter suruh bayar. I think it's more approprite to tell so atleast the patient has rough idea how much it'll cost him/her. Agree?

Lesson 2: DON'T ever jump from one chair to another chair when the ground is cemented!!!! Or you might end up just like me -lol- ;)

ps- got any dental experince to share?
